Unquenchable thirst for knowledge!
I am new to the world of CAD and CAM. I have been following numerous groups in social media, including Titans of CNC, and wanted to get started designing and machining.
I spent about 20 years of my life in the real estate valuation industry, which ended in the real estate market crash of 07-08. I began working at a small paint factory in 2012, which began my journey into engineering. Within weeks, I learned about paint processes and began to design robotic paint path programs on FANUC P-145 robots. To date, I have designed well over 120 unique robotic paint path programs. I also worked with a 20w CO2 Fiber Laser on several etching programs, removing layers of paint to expose a backlit image.
I have also built a Kossel-style 3d Printer and a Millright CNC M3 Desktop Router. After completing the assembly of these units, I realized that I need much, much more understanding of the CAD/CAM process. I began using Autodesk 360 in June, 2017 and try to watch at least one new video, learn something new every day. I have also started to program with Python, using a Raspberry Pi, in my rare spare moments.
I look forward to learning from this group, and hope to share my knowledge with others in the future.
