Description

Pandora is a highly detailed 1u segment Cubesat designed to secure and re-orbit Vanguard 1, an out of commissioned satellite that has lost communication with earth still in the orbit.

Purpose
We need to tackle the problem of increasing space debris, a problem in its budding stage. This project aims at recovering a specific lost satellite which can be extended to many other articles if desired.
Solution
The mechanical arms in the Cubesat secure the satellite Vanguard 1. if we are looking for improvements in the design, care should be taken with the design of the mechanical arms and the propulsion of the satellite.
Audience
This design is for people who are capable of making and launching a satellite, and who are interested in space debris removal. Most of the components are made from already existing satellite parts that can be found online, and the other parts can be manufactured using simple manufacturing techniques.
