Reality computing for construction applications is the process of documenting the as-built conditions present on a site. Autodesk Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions provide the tools to manage, edit, and develop accurate as-built solutions in the BIM environment. Through this course, students will explore multiple BIM-enabled reality capture tools including laser scanning and photogrammetry. 

This course introduces students to reality computing techniques for the construction industry, while exploring Autodesk applications that enable BIM. Students will explore key technologies like laser scanning, point cloud management, photogrammetry using unmanned aircraft systems (UASs), standard photography, and modeling using point clouds. Students will also learn how Autodesk® Recap™ 360, ReCap™ 360 Ultimate and Revit® is used in the workflow for reality capture data. The course includes five modules with exercises to offer students hands-on experience with realty computing technology. Students will not only gain a basic understanding of technology and processes, they'll understand the benefits, strengths, and weaknesses of each approach to reality capture in the construction industry.
