Fusion 360 Simulation: Thermal Analysis
In this course, we learn about the distribution, transfer, and stress on parts caused by heat. Autodesk® Fusion 360™ allows us to analyze these thermal effects to help optimize any design. We'll discuss the various modes of heat transfer, such as convection, and how analyzing the distribution and stress caused by heat can help us make informed design decisions.
After completing this course, you'll be able to:

Getting started In this lesson, we'll discover what you'll learn in this course and download the software and resources you need.
Lesson 1: Overview of heat transfer In this lesson, we learn about the heat transfer mechanisms. We explore the three modes of transfer being conduction, convection and radiation.
Lesson 2: Boundary conditions In this lesson, we are introduced to the different types of boundary conditions that can be encountered while solving heat problems.
Lesson 3: Heat transfer In this lesson, we develop an effective heat sink design for and LED light bulb by using heat transfer simulation.
Lesson 4: Radiation heat transfer In this lesson, we learn about radiation heat transfer and how it can contribute to warming a probe that is in contact with liquid nitrogen.
Lesson 5: Thermal stress In this lesson, we learn how to analyze the stress effects of thermal changes on a component.
